Special Collections Open Additional Hours


PLATTSBURGH, NY __ In response to overwhelming requests, the Special Collections Unit within the Benjamin F. Feinberg Library at Plattsburgh State University of New York will be open additional hours each week beginning Monday, Jan. 26.

The new schedule will be:

   

Mondays       1 - 4 p.m.
Tuesdays      1 - 7 p.m.
Wednesdays  10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
  1 - 4 p.m.
Thursdays    10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
  1 - 4 p.m.
Fridays  10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
  1 - 4 p.m.
Saturdays     1 - 4 p.m.

The Special Collections unit in Feinberg Library contains general materials on New York State with particular emphasis on the northern counties of Clinton, Essex, Franklin, St. Lawrence, Hamilton, Herkimer and Warren.

Information is contained in a variety of formats including monographs, periodicals, pamphlets and other ephemera, photographs, maps, and manuscripts. The Special Collections card catalogs also include indexing of local newspapers and article-by-article indexing of periodicals relating to New York State.

In addition to New York and local history materials, Special Collections contains college archives, the thesis collection, rare books and the Rockwell Kent Collection.

Footnote:   Feinberg Library, including Special Collections, is closed this week through Sunday, Jan. 4. 2004. Special Collections will re-open on Tuesday, Jan. 6 at its regular time. The new hours go into effect beginning Monday, Jan. 26.
