Spring Commencement Schedule of Events

Cardinal Graduation Expo (12 - 4 p.m.)

SUNY Plattsburgh will host the Cardinal Graduation Expo, tentatively set for Tuesday, March 26, 2013, from 12 to 4 p.m. in Warren Ballroom B, Angell College Center. Students planning to graduate in Spring 2013 can attend and purchase caps and gowns, diploma covers, commencement announcements, class rings, diploma frames and other gift items relating to Commencement. Early May 2013

Purchase (bachelor's degree) or rent (master's degree) academic regalia at the College Store beginning in early May.

Spring Semester Ends (6 p.m.)

 

Honors Center Medallion Ceremony

Time: 11:00 a.m. 
Location: E. Glenn Giltz Auditorium, Hawkins Hall

Graduating students in the Honors Center will be awarded with medallions during this ceremony, which is open to family, friends and relatives.  Refreshments will be available after the ceremony.

Education, Health, and Human Services Awards and Honors Ceremony

Time: 1:30 p.m. 
Location: E. Glenn Giltz Auditorium, Hawkins Hall

Students from all of the departments, centers and programs of the EHHS Division will receive special awards and scholarships for their achievements during the past academic year. Students who have been named to the Dean's List during the previous two semesters will also be recognized.

Pre-Commencement Reception

Time: 3:00 - 5:00 p.m.
Location: Flynt Commons, Angell College Center

The Senior Reception for the Graduating Class of 2013 is an opportunity for you to gather with your fellow classmates, family members, faculty and staff for a final goodbye. Family and friends of the graduating students are invited to attend the reception, which is free of charge. Reservations are not required, and dress is casual. SUNY Plattsburgh's newest alumni will receive a welcome packet, which includes a gift from the Office of Alumni Affairs. The offices of Plattsburgh Alumni Association, Plattsburgh College Foundation and College Auxiliary Services Office sponsor this event.

Annual Arts and Science Academic Achievement Awards Ceremony

Time: 5:00 - 6:30 p.m.
Location: E. Glenn Giltz Auditorium, Hawkins Hall

Graduating students in the Division of Arts and Science receiving departmental awards will be honored during this ceremony, which is open to the campus, family, friends and relatives.  Refreshments will be available after the ceremony.

Pinning Ceremony for Nursing Students

Time: 5:00 p.m.
Location: Hartman Theatre, Myers Fine Arts Building

Please join the faculty of the Nursing Department at SUNY Plattsburgh in recognizing the nursing students who will graduate in the Class of 2013. There will also be a reception at 4 p.m. in the Winkel Courtyard prior to the ceremony.
 

School of Business and Economics Graduation Reception

Time: 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. 
Location: Charles and Nancy Warren Ballrooms, Angell College Center

Graduates in the School of Business and Economics receiving departmental awards are honored at the reception. Friends and family members are invited to attend.

Saturday May 18, 2013

Morning Commencement Ceremony

Time: 9 a.m. -- PLEASE NOTE NEW TIME 
Location: Field House, Rugar Street

Bachelor and master degree candidates majoring in programs within the Division of Education, Health and Human Services and the School of Business and Economics should attend this ceremony. Students will lineup beginning at 8:15 a.m. in the Stafford Ice Arena, Field House.

Afternoon Commencement Ceremony

Time: 2 p.m.
Location: Field House, Rugar Street

Bachelor and master degree candidates majoring in programs within the Division of Arts and Science should attend this ceremony. Students will lineup beginning at 1:15 p.m. in the Stafford Ice Arena, Field House.

Residence Halls CLOSE for all students except graduating seniors - 3:30 p.m.
