SUNY Plattsburgh Educational Technology (Ed Tech) Fee

Providing for the best possible technology and support

The Ed Tech fee exists to give Plattsburgh students the competitive edge. A mandatory charge on your student bill, this fee supplements state funding and allows SUNY Plattsburgh to provide you with the best possible technology support, services, and education. The Dean of Library and Information Services seeks input from the LIS Student Advisory Committee, maintaining a direct line of communication among SUNY Plattsburgh students, the staff of the Library, and the LIS division. An accounting of expenditures is made available annually.

Your Ed Tech fee also establishes a consistent revenue stream that enables the College to conduct long-range planning for technology. It allows the College to respond to short-term needs and to adjust for changing curricular needs and student priorities.

How much is the fee?

The current Ed Tech Fee may be viewed on the SUNY Plattsburgh College Fees web page. Payment questions may be addressed to our Student Accounts office.

Can I request a fee waiver?

As a rule, no. The fee is required for all students. The Dean of Library and Information Services will consider extraordinary exemption requests.

If I am not enrolled but I am using campuses resources to make up an Incomplete grade, do I need to pay the Ed-Tech fee?

Yes. You must pay the fee prorated on the number of credits for your Incomplete course. If you are enrolled in other courses while you are making up the Incomplete course, then you are already paying the fee based on your enrollment status.
