Technology Related Assistance for Individuals with Disabilities (TRAID) is a federally funded project, under Public Law 100-407 by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR), and U.S. Department of Health, Early Intervention Program.
New York State's TRAID Project is administered by the Office of Advocate for Persons with Disabilities The Project's goal is to increase awareness and appropriate use of assistive technology by individuals with disabilities.
An assistive device is any item, product or piece of equipment that can be used to maintain or improve the functional abilities of individuals with disabilities. It can be something as simple as a modified toothbrush handle or as complex as a voice-activated computer system.
The ARTC collaborates with the Northeast ADA & IT Center to provide current Information Technology dissemination and training.
