Freshman Admissions Assistant

Hello everyone! My name is Ashley Clark and I work as a Freshman Admissions Assistant for the Admissions Office. As an admissions assistant, I conduct interviews with students and their families, review freshman applications, deliver admissions presentations, and answer phone calls and e-mails from prospective students. SUNY Plattsburgh has provided, and continues to provide me with, so many hands-on learning experiences. As an incoming student or current student, you, too, can receive the same learning experience as I did!

Hometown: Plattsburgh, NY

Professional/Personal Biography: In 2005, I graduated from Beekmantown High School. I received my Associate’s degree in Humanities and Social Sciences from Clinton Community College. I then took a year off of college and danced in a Christian Ballet Company, traveling all over the world to places like India and Kazakhstan. When I returned to Plattsburgh, I transferred to SUNY Plattsburgh and graduated in May 2010 with my Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations (Advertising Concentration). I am currently working on my Master of Arts degree in Leadership and Administration. I absolutely love the city of Plattsburgh! It is very community-based and located in such a beautiful part of the world.

Most memorable college experience: My most memorable college experience was when I walked the procession for graduation. I was able to be with my friends and the sense of accomplishment and excitement was beaming from every student! It was a great day.

Favorite SUNY Plattsburgh activity: SUNY Plattsburgh is located in an excellent location for anything outdoors! I love hiking, skiing, and capturing the beautiful scenery through photography. When I am not studying or working, I can also be found in a locally owned coffee shop in downtown Plattsburgh!

Best advice you received regarding college or would give someone entering college: Let college and the education you receive make you a better you. If you are an undecided student, embrace the excitement of being surprised one day!
