The American College of Sports Medicine® (ACSM), based in Indianapolis, Indiana, puts into practice its strategic efforts to promote and integrate scientific research, education, certification testing, and practical applications of sports medicine and exercise science to maintain and enhance physical performance, fitness, health, and quality of life. In addition, ACSM has more than 20,000 International, National, and Regional Chapter members.
As a Fitness and Wellness Leadership student, you will receive a comprehensive and standardized curriculum within the major that addresses the knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) specified by the ACSM Committee on Certification and Registry Boards (CCRB) to prepare for both the ACSM Certified Personal Trainer SM and the ACSM Health/Fitness Instructor® certification examinations. In addition, you will be prepared to take the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists (CSCS) certification by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
