- About Plattsburgh
One of the distinguishing features of the leadership program is the dedication of our faculty to the success of our students, many of whom come from highly diverse undergraduate programs of study and have different learning styles and study needs.
Our classes are student-centered and highly interactive, allowing you to express yourself as a leader in the classroom and try out new skills and knowledge in a fail-safe learning environment.
Setting itself apart from programs with similar titles, the leadership program is intended to test your abilities in interaction with a cohort of adult students who come to the classroom from active professional lives and faculty who offer real world experience, academic rigor, and a passion for life-long learning.
The program is available both at the main campus in Plattsburgh and at SUNY Plattsburgh at Queensbury.
Our courses are offered in the evenings, weekends and during the summer, using several delivery methods: direct face-to-face classrooms, courses simultaneously delivered to classrooms in remote locations, courses delivered via the internet, and hybrid courses which use both the internet and either simulcast or face-to-face classroom experiences. This mixed media approach to course delivery enables you to "learn where you live." Our future plans include developing the technological capacity to provide the degree program in-house in corporate, government and non-profit learning centers in addition to the current two locations.
State-of-the-art simulcast technology and smart classrooms provide faculty and students with advanced technological tools that support and enhance the learning experience and provide just-in-time exchange of information between students and faculty.
Our program invites you—the emergent leader—to investigate new ideas, expand your knowledge, build competence, master skills and, most importantly, create a self-identity as a leader.
