Journalism students enrolled at SUNY Plattsburgh are part of a community of journalists who has as its mission to serve the public by seeking and reporting the facts as accurately as possible. Good journalists believe in the principle of telling the truth and ensuring integrity in their work.

The SUNY Plattsburgh journalism department has a zero tolerance toward all types of academic dishonesty. Ignorance of the rules is not an acceptable excuse.

As a journalism student at SUNY, you are responsible for reading and abiding by the Journalism Handbook for Students: Ethics, Law, Integrity & Good Practice for the Department of Journalism, Plattsburgh State University College.
