Careers in Environmental Studies

Preparation for a Changing Environment

Environmental Studies is designed as a pre-professional degree that focuses on the human dimensions of environmental issues and prepares students for a wide variety of jobs in the public, non-profit and private sectors.

It also prepares students with the necessary background for graduate school in a variety of areas, especially for those who decide to pursue a Master of Science, Master of Professional Studies or Doctoral Program in Environmental Studies at other SUNY institutions.

Graduates in the Environmental Studies program can go on to pursue careers in:

• graduate study in variety of environmental programs
• community-based social and environmental coordinator
• work in environmentally themed non-profits and non-governmental organizations (NGOs)
• environmental advocacy
• public work in local, state, national, and global governing organizations
