Radio Minor at SUNY Plattsburgh

Students who are interested in radio broadcasting as a complement to their field of study can enroll in the radio minor. You get to explore both the on-air and pre-production aspects of radio. Classroom knowledge is supplemented with hands-on experiences available on both WARP Radio and at WQKE FM. These opportunities will develop your on-air expertise producing music, news, sports, or talk shows.

Through demographic research, you will gain an awareness of audience needs and a greater appreciation of the civic responsibilities associated with radio broadcasting. As well, you will learn digital audio editing techniques that can be applied to other fields of study in the form of podcasting. (This minor is available to non-communication majors only.)
