What are the Biological Sciences?

Biological sciences encompass many different areas of biology including:

  • Field studies such as ecology, ornithology.
  • Laboratory based disciplines that include anatomy and physiology, cellular biology, microbiolgy, genetics.
  • Biochemistry and other interdisciplinary fields.
  • Health science-related disciplines such as medical technology and cytotechnology.

Here at SUNY Plattsburgh, the biological sciences program gives students a broad foundation in all major areas of biology. This enables students to enter into advanced studies or immediately pursue biology related career paths in research or health related sciences.
