Women's Rugby Sports Club and the Club's Operating Guidelines
Funded by Student Association, the Women's Rugby Club at SUNY Plattsburgh club is a member of the Empire Rugby Football Union Geographical Union (Empire GU) and play in the National Small College Rugby Organization (NSCRO) upstate conference of the Empire GU. During the fall, they participate in Conference league games. The spring schedule consists of both scrimmages and tournaments.
Plattsburgh Women's Rugby played a great Fall 2014 season with a 4-1 record (two shut-outs), losing their final regular season game against Clarkson. Losing homefield advantage, the ruggers traveled to St. Bonaventure University to challenge the Bonnies, who had been holding up an undefeated record, all shut-outs. After a well-played game on both sides, St. Bonaventure won 34-7, with Plattsburgh ending the Bonnies shut-out streak. Plattsburgh State Women's Rugby team remains optimistic about their upcoming tournament season and continues recruiting to expand their roster for the 2015 season.
Tom Pillsworth, a long time rugby player for the Saranac Lake Mountaineers and D1 player for the Albany Knicks, is in his first year as head coach.
The Upstate New York Collegiate Conference Rugby (NYCCRUGBY) was established and approved by USA Rugby in July of 2014. The new conference represents over 20 women's rugby teams, mostly SUNY schools, as well as two D1 Teams, Syracuse and University of Buffalo.

The club will be scheduled from September to November each fall and March-May in the spring. No meets will be scheduled during college breaks or finals week. Participation in a game requires each member to attend all practices the week prior to the game. Any missed practices eliminate participation in the game for that week except for class conflicts.
