The Career Development Center (CDC) coordinates on- and off-campus part-time job listings as a service to SUNY Plattsburgh students. Currently enrolled students, including Freshmen, who are looking for employment are encouraged to visit the Student Employment Services area in the Career Development Center (CDC). Students do not need to demonstrate financial need to be eligible for employment services. However, each student must register with the CDC to review job postings. Jobs are advertised continuously throughout the year.
On the first day of the Fall semester, the CDC will conduct a Part-time Job Posting Fair for both on- and off-campus jobs. Jobs are filled quickly, so interested students are strongly encouraged to attend this event to have the best opportunity to secure a position.
Many students are interested in finding part-time jobs on campus with college offices and departments. On-campus employment includes part-time (temporary service) in campus offices, academic departments, food services, the library, and the recreation department, among others. There are a limited number of these positions. As they become available throughout the year, on-campus job opportunities are listed on the CDC bulletin boards across from Subway on the first floor of the Angell College Center.
On-campus part-time jobs for students are also posted on Banner Web under the Employment Opportunities Menu. Note: Banner Web is a resource for enrolled students, and login is required.
Interested students are encouraged to check both bulletin boards and BannerWeb periodically.
Hundreds of students per year find part-time and seasonal employment off-campus through Student Employment Services. Students work in area professional offices, restaurants, and retail businesses, as well as at more casual employment such as childcare, housework, or yardwork.
The off-campus job opportunities are actively developed and updated by the CDC. Therefore, students are encouraged to check the job listings frequently. Stop by the Career Development Center or check the bulletin boards across from Subway on the first floor of the Angell College Center.
Depending on the business location or work schedule, students might need a car or other form of transportation for some jobs.
NOTE: Students who plan to work on- or off-campus should bring an original Social Security card (not a copy) and a driver's license or other form of photo identification.
