Whether you are an undeclared major, deciding what direction you want to go with your major, or are considering career move, our office has many resources to assist you. Meeting with a professional career counselor is a great first step in assisting you with this decision. A scheduled, individual appointment may assist you with identifying your interests, skills, values, and goals. Also available are group workshops to address the topic of "Choosing or Changing a Major/Career."
The career counselors use a variety of interest and personality inventories that may assist you. Some of these include Strong Interest Inventory, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, and the Self-Directed Search. We have computerized career resources in our office including PinPoint and SIGI3 .
Our career resource library has numerous books and handouts that will assist you in exploring various majors. Researching options can be very helpful whether you choose a targeted major such as nursing, or a strong liberal arts major such as philosophy. There are many paths to different careers and many options with any particular major.
If you are undeclared (pre-major), you should also consult with the Office of Academic Advising to take advantage of their resources.

There are also numerous mini career/personality assessments on the Internet to get you started. It is strongly advised to follow up with an appointment with a professional career counselor.
