Registration Dates and Information for Newly Accepted Students

Entering Spring 2009

Freshmen

Information regarding services, dates, and deadlines is forwarded to all new students. Questions may be directed to the Admissions Office (518-564-2040).

Transfers

• Course Advisement Begins (Banner Web PIN Access) Begins December 8, 2008
  Transfer students begin contacting department chairs for course advisement and to obtain the registration code. Note: (PIN) required to access Banner Web registration.
  
• Online Registration for Main and Branch Campus Students Begins December 16, 2008 (10 a.m.)
  Staff at the branch campus are available to assist with registration.
  
• In-Person Course Advisement/Registration (if needed) Begins January 25, 2009 (10 a.m.)

Readmits

• October 26, 2008 (10 a.m.) - February 1, 2009 (midnight) - Banner Web Online Spring 2009 Registration
  Note: Please register early.  Registration codes are not required

Undergraduate students requiring assistance with course selection should contact the department chairperson of his/her major initially. If additional course selection advisement is needed, feel free to contact the Office of Academic Advising:

Students are responsible for all tuition and fees associated with their spring 2009 course registrations. If you have been accepted to Plattsburgh, but cannot attend during the spring 2009 semester, please contact the admissions office as soon as possible:

Banner Web (Online Registration)

1. Access Banner Web from Plattsburgh's homepage at www.plattsburgh.edu .
2. Click on the MyPlattsburgh link.
3. Login in with NetId and Password (Click here for more information on NetID and password) 
4. Click on Student Services menu tab.
5. Under Registrar, click on Lookup Courses to Add.
6. Select Term (Winter 2009 or Spring 2009).
7. Select course subject or other search criteria and press the Class Search button at the bottom of the form.
8. Check the box next to the desired course(s), scroll to end of page, and submit changes. Approval to add a closed course is granted by the department chairperson only. However, you will have an opportunity to add your name to an electronic waitlist for Spring 2009 courses (waitlist not available for Winter 2009 courses). Once the course opens, you may be registered automatically if you and/or the course meet registration rules (i.e., major restrictions, prerequisites, no time conflicts, do not exceed the maximum credits allowed per term, etc.). An email will be forwarded to your Plattsburgh email account in the event that you are successfully registered for a waitlisted course.
