Two runners on the men's indoor track & field team won individual titles and the 3200-meter relay squad won a team title at the SUNYAC Indoor Track Championship February 22.
Senior Mike Francia won the 500 meters in a time of 1:06.44 for his second SUNYAC title (he won the outdoor 400 meters last year.)
Freshman Stuart Guthrie was the conference champion in the 800 meters in a time of 1:57.71. He also ran the anchor leg of the 3200-meter relay squad that won a conference title in a time of 8:08.63. Other members of the relay team were freshmen Matt DeShane and Marty O'Brien and junior Sam Pitts.
DeShane was runner-up in the 1,000 meters by a mere 0.4 seconds, while Pitts was fourth in the 1,000 and the 1,500.
Plattsburgh finished fourth of nine teams at the conference championship.
The men's outdoor track & field team finished fourth of nine teams at the SUNYAC Championship. Stu Guthrie won the 800 meters at the championship. Mike Francia was second in the 400 meters, while Kevin Probst was second in the pole vault and Damion Cameron was second in the discus.
Sam Pitts finished second in the 1,500 meters in both the SUNYAC and ECAC championships.
