The men's hockey team advanced to the finals of the SUNYAC Tournament for the seventh year in a row and posted 20 wins for the ninth year in a row.
The team finished third in the regular-season conference standings with a 9-4-1 record and was 20-9-3 overall. The four losses were the most since the 1997-98 season.
The Cardinals defeated Cortland twice at home in the SUNYAC Tournament quarterfinals, Fredonia twice on the road in the semifinals and won the first game of a three-game finals series at Oswego before surrendering the game-winning goal with less than two minutes remaining in the third game.
The team won 10 of 11 games from February 1-March 7, including an eight-game winning streak from February 14-March 7.
Brendon Hodge and Peter Ollari were named to the Second Team All-America squad.
Hodge and Chad Kemp were each named to the All-SUNYAC First Team, while Jason Kilcan and Peter Ollari earned Second Team honors.
Hodge and Kemp also were named to the All-SUNYAC Tournament team.
Hodge led the team and was third in the conference in scoring (21g, 21a, 42 pts.), while Jason Kilcan was second on the team and fourth in the conference (14g, 21a, 35 pts.)
Four players – Hodge, Kilcan, Jeff Hopkins and Ollari – were chosen to compete in the Eastern College Division Senior All-Star game.
