Adventure was in the air — and on the screen — Saturday, Dec. 7, as members of Platty Slack, the Outing Club and Biketopia hosted the second annual Adventure Film Festival.
The groups screened 10 homegrown films: seven by Plattsburgh students and three by students from other schools, covering topics like rock climbing, mountain biking, skiing, snowboarding and hiking.
“The purpose behind the film festival was really twofold: to bring outdoor lovers together before the end of the semester and to share student-produced work with the hopes of inspiring students to go outside and be active,” said Matt McDonald, a senior English writing arts major with minors in journalism marketing, who helped organize the event.
The groups plan to run the event again next fall and may expand it, adding another show in the spring.
“We just need enough films,” said McDonald.
