- About Plattsburgh
As the Assistant Director for Transfer Admissions, I coordinate the application review for students who seek transfer admission to the college, with an emphasis on making the transition to SUNY Plattsburgh as easy as possible. Our transfer staff is ready and willing to answer any questions you have about the application process, pathways to enrollment at Plattsburgh, transferring credit, and course registration. We are always happy to assist you.
In addition to my transfer responsibilities, I manage the Admissions web content and act as the liaison for the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) for both freshman and transfer applicants. My primary region for transfer recruitment is the North Country. If you have any questions about the transfer admissions process or EOP, please feel free to contact me.
Hometown: Goshen, NY
Professional/Personal Biography: In 2001, I graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh with a B.A. degree in Sociology, with minors in Psychology and Spanish. I returned for another year and earned my M.A. degree in Liberal Studies: Administration and Leadership in 2002. Following my graduate year, I spent two years working at a small community college in athletics and student affairs, and the next two years in communications and events for a local chamber of commerce. In 2006, I returned to SUNY Plattsburgh to join the Admissions team. When not on campus, you'll likely find me running, cycling, boating, hiking, camping, skiing, canoeing (or anything else outdoors!) with my husband and children near our home in the Adirondacks.
Most Memorable College Experience: My participation as a four-year intercollegiate athlete on the indoor and outdoor track and field teams. As a student-athlete, I learned life lessons and interpersonal skills that were later essential in shaping my character as a professional.
Favorite SUNY Plattsburgh Activity: Any of the programs offered by the Student Association - from music and comedy to lectures and presentations, they're always new, exciting, and different.
Best advice you received regarding college or would give someone entering college: College is about making choices. By embracing Plattsburgh's unique opportunities, you will broaden your experiences. Take full advantage of the resources available through the various offices and organizations on campus - you'll quickly find yourself meeting new people and enjoying all the perks that college life has to offer!
