The Global Education Office (GEO) hosts study away events throughout the spring and fall semesters for both prospective study away students and study away alumni. Please read below for details about upcoming programs, as well as important deadlines.
Study Away Workshops: Every Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. in Meeting Room 6 of ACC. Join GEO for information on study away opportunities, the application process, and program details. Students in any phase of the study away process are welcome to attend. Both staff and study away alumni will be available to provide assistance. Please note that workshops are available while classes are in session during the spring and fall semesters.
Study Away Alumni Celebration: Thursday, February 7 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in the lower lounge of Macomb Hall. All study away alumni are welcome to sample a variety of international food and talk about their experiences. Please RSVP to geo@plattsburgh.edu.
National Student Exchange (NSE) Presentation: Tuesday, February 12 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. in the Meeting Room 1 of ACC. SUNY Plattsburgh students have the opportunity to study for a semester or academic year at over 180 universities in the U.S., Canada, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S Virgin Islands. Students often have the choice to pay Plattsburgh tuition or in-state tuition at their host campus. Please join GEO to find out more about this great opportunity.
Regional Spotlight on Australia: Thursday, February 21 from 8:00-9:00 p.m. in Meeting Room 7 of ACC. GEO invites you to attend an information session that highlights Plattsburgh's five Australian programs. This is a great opportunity to find out why Australia is one of the most popular study abroad destinations. Learn more about each location and university, as well as speak to study away alumni about their experiences.
Regional Spotlight on the United Kingdom: Tuesday, February 26 from 4:00-5:00 p.m. in Meeting Room 8 of ACC. GEO invites you to attend an information session that highlights Plattsburgh's four partner universities in England. Take advantage of the opportunity to find out why the UK is one of hte most popular study abraod destinations. Students will learn more about each university and where they are located, as well as speak to study away alumni about their experiences.
Around the World: Thursday, February 28 from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. in the ACC Meeting Rooms. The Global Education Mentors invite all students to a showcase of culture and international education opportunities. Please stop by to find out more about where in the world you can go.
Regional Spotlight on Continental Europe: Tuesday, March 5 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in the Meeting Room 1 of ACC. GEO invites you to attend an information session that highlights Plattsburgh's programs in continental Europe. Destinations include Germany, Spain, and Switzerland. You can learn details about each university, location, and speak to study away alumni about their experiences. Course options in English and the local language are available for each program.
Study Away and Your Career: TBA. All study away alumni are welcome to attend this specialized session. Staff from the both Career Development Center and GEO will be available. This event is designed to assist students with enhancing their resume and interview skills to reflect the experience and skills gained while participating in a study away program. Lunch will be provided. Please RSVP to geo@plattsburgh.edu.
