In addition to significant academic achievements, all journalism faculty have practical experience. They have reported, edited, written, and consulted for publications ranging from newspapers to magazines to professional journals. In the course of reporting articles, our teachers have traveled to the North Slope of Alaska to examine global warming, to Hawaii to investigate noise pollution, to New Hampshire to cover the presidential primaries, to Midway Atoll for a travel feature, and to Beijing to cover the Olympics. They have also served as writing coaches and journalism award judges.
The journalism faculty takes an active interest in the personal and academic lives of journalism students, and works closely with them to help define their goals and assist in course selection, academic advice, and career questions.
