Highlights of the Block II Field Placement Experience
The Academic Program allows you to
- Focus on the development of skills such as assessment and evaluation as well as planning and implementing curriculum and instructional activities.
- Develop and validate a repertoire of teaching and planning models that reflect the consistent application of the knowledge base of the profession.
The Field Placement Component allows you to
- Participate in the life of the school community.
- Observe, interact with, and offer instruction to students within partner school classrooms.
- Experience opportunities to apply your pedagogical concepts and skills in elementary level classrooms.
- Observe and interact with elementary teachers and various other professionals working within the partner school environment.
- Join in school-related activities and functions (e.g., Open House, Activity Nights).
- Receive supervision from Professional Development Educators and college instructors.
- Reflect upon your observations and experiences with colleagues and course instructors and modify your instruction accordingly.
Block II: Elementary Curriculum and Instruction (EDU394)
