Clintonville Forge Project - Location of the Charcoal Shed

Field Notes:

Found on the exterior of the central portion of the long, south wall of the forge building.

This 13 ft. x 30 ft. stone-walled shed was used for storage of charcoal for use in the bloomery forges.

An opening at its east end allowed access for hand carts or wagons.
