Valcour Kayak Center (VKC)

What is Valcour Kayak Center?

Created as a kayaking center in support of the kayaking program offered by the Adirondack Experience at Plattsburgh State, the Valcour Kayak Center (VKC) offers paddling opportunities for Plattsburgh State faculty, staff and students, as well as guests staying at Valcour Conference Center.

In addition to offering the convenience of having your boat at the lake, Valcour Kayak Center is a place to meet up with other paddlers.  Use contact information below for more details.

What Can I Do At VKC?

Almost anything to do with sea kayak touring on Lake Champlain. Our paddling faculty offers instruction and tours throughout the paddling season. If you have something in mind, let us know.

We offer general and specialized instruction, from introductory days to rescue and recovery clincs. If you've never paddled but want to try, we can suggest an experience suited to your schedule. If you want to take yourself out on The Lake, rentals are available as well.

Where Can I Go On Lake Champlain?

We can take you on any number of tours, or give you a map and send you to quiet bays, sandy shores, busy marinas, quiet rivers, or public beaches.

How Do I Make Arrangements?

Tours, instruction, or rentals are all available by arrangement. To make reservations, please contact:
