The SUNY Plattsburgh Career Development Center provides assistance to students seeking employment on- and off-campus.
Many students are interested in finding part-time jobs on campus with college offices and departments. On-campus employment includes part-time (temporary service) in campus offices, academic departments, food services, the library, and the recreation department, among others. There are a limited number of these positions.

Off-campus employment for students include professional offices, restaurants, and retail businesses, as well as at more casual employment such as childcare, housework, or yardwork. Depending on the business location or work schedule, students might need a car or other form of transportation for some jobs.

The Student Employment Expo, held at the start of every fall semester, showcases postings for part-time jobs on- and off-campus with a variety of employers. Students can review job postings online through CardinalConnect prior to the event. NOTE: Students who plan to work on- or off-campus should bring an original Social Security card (not a copy) and a driver's license or other form of photo identification.
Students seeking Federal Work-Study positions should contact the Financial Aid office for information about on-campus positions.
Internships and full time postings are also available at CardinalConnect. Students affiliated with the School of Business and Economics are encouraged to contact Ms. Mary Carpenter, director for SBE Internships, at (518) 564-4303.
A comprehensive database of international work, volunteer, and internship opportunities can be found in GoinGlobal, a free service for students logged into their CardinalConnect career services management portal.
