Critical resources for a teaching community

The Center for Teaching Excellence at SUNY Plattsburgh is here to help faculty fulfill their aspirations to be among the best teachers in the SUNY system!

2013 Conference on Teaching and Learning

Celebrating Excellence in Teaching is this year's theme. We invite all faculty and professionals from colleges and universities everywhere to join us. Learn more.

New for 2012-13

We've redesigned CTE services this year to further strengthen support for our faculty. The CTE now offers support services as well as new opportunities to participate in conversations about teaching. For direct consultative services, including class visits and observations, contact Becky Kasper.

Workshops are typically 75- 90 minutes long on topics concerning specific teaching techniques, including Moodle, course design, and more. The schedule of workshops will be updated periodically throughout the semester.

Faculty learning communities are small groups of faculty and staff who gather to discuss. This year, all FLCs will run for the entire year; and, with the exception of the Open Door FLC, faculty are welcome to join sessions as their schedules permit. Go here for more information about this year’s faculty learning communities.

This fall, The Common Good newsletter will enter a new stage as an internal SUNY Plattsburgh journal on teaching and learning. This metamorphosis is inspired by the demonstrated commitment of the Plattsburgh faculty to teaching and their desire to be part of a campus cultural movement that marks SUNY Plattsburgh as a place where teaching and learning thrives. Find out more how you can contribute.

The Explorations in Teaching project is now underway. This digital narrative captures the soul of Plattsburgh faculty and their love of teaching. Would you like to participate?
