SUNY Plattsburgh has been ranked among “America’s Best Colleges” by U.S. News & World Report for the eighth straight year.
Ranked No. 76 out of all northern regional universities, the college was evaluated based on opinions of administrators at peer institutions, student retention data, faculty resources, admissions selectivity, financial resources and alumni giving.
This latest recognition adds to a growing number of mentions and rankings by national publications and services which have placed SUNY Plattsburgh high for a range of factors – from affordability and location to services and academic quality.
“National recognition draws well-deserved attention to our campus,” said President John Ettling. “Students, faculty, staff, alumni and other friends who invest in the college are key to our success. Members of our campus community know how special the Plattsburgh experience is and what a difference it makes for a lifetime."
The U.S. News & World Report rankings are some of the most widely publicized in higher education. Recent rankings from other publications and services include:
“The State University of New York has historically offered students an affordable, accessible higher education that is second to none,” said SUNY Chancellor Nancy L. Zimpher. “As we work to bring the benefits of a SUNY education to even more students through our Completion Agenda, we are proud to see so many of our colleges and universities recognized by U.S. News & World Report again this year."
