Our alumni love Plattsburgh, and they want to share their perspective with today’s students.
The Alumni in the Classroom Experience – ACE, for short – makes hosting alumni visits easier and more affordable for academic departments. More important, it gives students a seamless path to network with graduates in their field.
The program offers:
Grant requests are to be submitted to the Office of Alumni Relations by the application deadline. After the deadline has passed, applications will be considered on a rolling basis until the funding is exhausted.
The fall 2013 application deadline is Friday, September 20.

The Office of Marketing and Communications is available to assist on a limited basis with announcements, photos, and copywriting to make sure your ACE visit is successful.
You design and coordinate the visit that works for your goals. It could be a guest lecture in one class or a full day of activities.
How is ACE different from the Distinguished Visiting Alumni program?
The Distinguished Visiting Alumni program honors one or two graduates each year who have achieved an exceptional level of professional success. The Alumni Association selects and hosts DVA’s, who usually give a public presentation in addition to classroom visits over a two- or three-day period.
The ACE program is about connecting alumni – even recent graduates – with students. ACE visits will be coordinated and supported by the host department.
We’ve invited alumni into our classrooms for years. Do we have to report it to Institutional Advancement now?
Many departments have a wonderful history of bringing alumni into the classroom. This activity is most welcome and encouraged to continue.
Successful, involved alumni demonstrate the value of a Plattsburgh education in the best possible way. For that reason, hosts are encouraged to inform the Office of Marketing & Communications of alumni visits, even if they are not part of the ACE program.
