Nurses are an integral part of the healthcare team assuring front-line safety and quality care. Nurses are advocates, educators, and counselors, in addition to providing direct client care.
We prepare students to become excellent professional nurses capable of meeting the dynamic health care needs of individuals, families, groups, and communities.
SUNY Plattsburgh has two nursing programs. The first is for individuals who wish to become registered nurses (RNs). This program takes approximately four years of full-time study. The second program is for registered nurses who wish to continue their education. Both programs lead to a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Nursing.
