Student Ambassador Program at SUNY Plattsburgh

The Student Ambassadors are an elite group of volunteers who demonstrate enthusiasm for the college. They go through an extensive interview process, and then are selected based on their extracurricular activities, character, and academics.

The 2012-2013 Student Ambassadors represent 24 academic majors and, as a group, have an aggregate grade point average of 3.51. They have a contagious enthusiasm for their alma mater as well as excellent communication and social interaction skills.

Get Involved

Our Student Ambassadors volunteer routinely in various services for the College. They provide their volunteerism to events such: Homecoming Weekend, Reunion, the Distinguished Visiting Alumni Program, Cardinal Graduation Expos, Senior Receptions, and more.

Ambassadors are available to guide campus tours. They volunteer their time to host alumni who return to visit their alma mater. The Ambassadors have the responsibility of being aware of current campus events, news and issues, and are trained in professional etiquette.

Included in their extensive training are professional development opportunities that make Student Ambassadors the perfect host for your next event. To arrange for a Student Ambassador to host your next event, please contact the Office of Alumni Relations at 518-564-2090. We appreciate a minimum of 14 days advance notice for all requests.
