Get Involved

The Earth and Environmental Science Club is an academic club for environmental science and geology majors but is open to anyone who is interested in the environment. The EESC works jointly with the campus-wide Environmental Action Committee. The club also serves as an advisory capacity to the Center for Earth and Environmental Science.

Meetings

The EESC meets every Wednesday at 7:00 pm in the Hudson Commons.

Past Events

Children's Museum Club Interactive Display

Joe Thouin, past president of the Earth and Environmental Science club, took the lead in building an interactive exhibit for identifying bird songs to be displayed in the Children's Museum of Plattsburgh. It could be viewed throughout the Mayor's cup weekend in City Hall. Kristin Spring (left) was club president through December, 2004. Our new club president is Victoria Bombard.

EES Club News

Fall picnic a success

Forty Environmental Science and Geology majors and a number of CEES faculy attended the fall, 2003 Earth and Environmental Science Club picnic held behind Hudson Hall. Students donated a meal from their meal plan to cover the hamburgers, hot dogs and fixins. A beautiful fall day with sunshine and temperatures in the 70s was a good way to end the week.

A spirited game of Frisbee football at the fall, 2003 EES club picnic. Game was called when Center director wimped out claiming he was out of shape.
