Plattsburgh State Drug and Alcohol Policies

The privilege of using alcoholic beverages is governed by state law and college policy as detailed in the Student Conduct Manual (Section 3: Alcohol.) Irresponsible and/or illegal use of alcoholic beverages and/or the resulting inappropriate behavior is strictly prohibited.

The State University of New York requires each campus to maintain regulations forbidding the use of narcotic and dangerous drugs.

Plattsburgh State complies by including its policy in the Student Conduct Manual (see Section 7: Drugs).

Further, the college's policy on alcohol and dangerous drug use/abuse is described in the Faculty/Staff Handbook.

The college periodically provides drug and alcohol awareness programs. Dissemination of pertinent information will continue to occur for all members of the campus community.

Confidential counseling and referral for treatment for alcohol and drug maladies is available to students and employees through Counseling Services and the Employee Assistance Program.

Plattsburgh State provides equal opportunity in education and employment without regard to race, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, sexual orientation, physical or mental disability, status as a Vietnam-Era Veteran or qualified veteran with a disability, except where age or sex are bona fide occupational qualifications or disability is a bona fide disqualification.
