Email is the primary method of communication between the Global Education Office and international applicants. Please provide a valid email address on the completed application in order to receive timely reminders and updates. Sometimes, we need to call you regarding your application. Please provide us with a working phone number on your application. It is very important we have your number so we can assist you with your application in a timely and efficient manner.
All the documents must be original or copies certified by the source institution (i.e., high school, examination council, etc.) or the EducationUSA advising center sponsored by the U.S. Department of State.
A permanent address outside the United States is required of all applicants.
There is an application fee of $50.00 USD that cannot be waived under any circumstances.

Admission Application
You may use SUNY Plattsburgh's international application or the Common Application to apply for admission. Both are viewed equally by the Admissions Committee.

All international applicants are required to submit proof of English Proficiency. The most common way of demonstrating proficiency is through standardized exams such as the TOEFL Internet-based (iBT), IELTS, SAT, or ACT. Students who have taken these exams should request that an official score report be sent from College Board/ETS or the British Council.
Other acceptable ways of demonstrating English proficiency are the following:
A TOEFL score of 540 (paper-based) or 76 (internet-based) or higher will enable you to be considered for admission directly into university-level academic programs. A TOEFL score between 450 and 539 paper-based (or between 45 and 75 computer-based) would enable you to enroll in our English Bridge Program.
Students who choose a program of study within the division of Education, Health, and Human Services must meet the minimum criteria for full-time admission directly into university-level academic programs. For a complete list of these majors please visit their department website.
Any international applicant who has completed academic studies at another college or university may be considered for transfer admission to SUNY Plattsburgh. The minimum standards for admission as a transfer student are:
