The Minor in Mathematics allows students in another major but with an interest in mathematics to pursue that interest and document their work on their resume.
The minor program consists of three specifically required courses and three other upper-level elective mathematics courses. This takes the student well beyond the general education mathematics requirement, which greatly improves marketability.
Studies show that there is a very strong correlation between the number of mathematics courses taken in college and starting salaries. This correlation is even more pronounced in the cases of women and minorities, where even one additional course can result in thousands of additional dollars in starting salary.
