Summer 2013 Student Orientation Dates

We will assign freshman students to sessions based loosely* on the geographic region in which they live. This is subject to change if deemed necessary. If the session to which you are assigned does not work for you and your family, you can switch sessions based on availability when you register and pay for your session. We expect to assign students to sessions as follows:

Your assignment will be accessible via the MyPlattsburgh PORTAL as of Tuesday, May 28th.

Freshman Sessions

Check-In Times for Freshman Orientation: Check-in for Orientation begins at 2 p.m. on Day 1 of your session at Whiteface Hall for students and Banks Hall for family members. Check-in ends at 4:00 p.m. for students and 5:00pm for family members. View campus maps.

Session 1: Monday, June 24 - Wednesday, June 26

Time: 2 p.m.
Counties Scheduled to Attend: Clinton, Essex & Franklin

Session 2: Sunday, June 30 - Tuesday, July 2  

Time: 2 p.m.
Counties Scheduled to Attend:  Bronx, Kings, Nassau, New York, Queens & Richmond - NYC & Western Long Island 

Session 3: Sunday, July 7 - Tuesday, July 9  

Time: 2 p.m.
Counties Scheduled to Attend: Columbia, Delaware, Dutchess, Orange, Putnam,  Rockland, Schoharie, Sullivan, Ulster & Westchester - Hudson Valley.

Session 4: Wednesday, July 10 - Friday, July 12

Time: 2 p.m.
Counties Scheduled to Attend: Albany, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Warren & Washington - Capital District.

Session 5: Sunday, July 14 - Tuesday, July 16

Time: 2 p.m.
Counties Scheduled to Attend: Fulton, Hamilton, Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Montgomery, Oneida, Oswego, St. Lawrence & Suffolk - Northern NY & Eastern Long Island.

Session 6: Wednesday, July 17 - Friday, July 19

Time: 2 p.m.
Counties Scheduled to Attend: Allegany, Broome, Cattaragus, Cayuga, Chautaugua, Chemung, Chenango, Cortland, Erie, Genesee, Greene, Livingston, Madison, Monroe, Niagara, Onodaga, Ontario, Orleans, Otsego, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Tioga, Tompkins, Wayne, Wyoming, Yates & all out of state students - Western NY and Out of State.

Transfer Sessions

Check-In Times for Transfer Orientation: Check-in for Transfer Orientation begins at 8 a.m. and ends at 9:00am in the Angell College Center Lobby. If you need overnight accommodations check-in will be 7-9 p.m. in your designated Residence Hall the night before your session. View campus maps.

Transfer 1: Friday, June 21 (with overnight option on June 20)

Time: 8 a.m.
Counties Scheduled to Attend: Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Bronx, Kings, Nassau, New York, Queens, Richmond, Columbia, Delaware, Dutchess, Greene, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Schoharie, Sullivan, Ulster & Westchester would be assigned to Transfer Session 1.

Transfer 2: Saturday, July 20 (with overnight option on July 19)

Time: 8 a.m.
