Residence halls open for new and returning students on Saturday, Aug. 24, and Sunday, Aug. 25, from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. To check in, get your room combination and have your questions answered, report to the office of your assigned hall. If you do not know your assignment or if you plan to check in after Sunday, report to the Housing and Residence Life Office in Room 103 of Algonquin Hall.
No-shows forfeit their room reservation at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27. A listing of off-campus housing options is available online.
The office is open Saturday, Aug. 24, and Sunday, Aug. 25, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The Admissions Office, located on the 10th floor of the Kehoe Administration Building, will be open Sunday, August 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
During these hours, newly admitted students to the Fall 2013 semester may stop in to discuss concerns related to their enrollment (e.g., transfer credit evaluations, change of major requests, college catalogs, etc.)
Eligible to Take the LIB Proficiency Exam?
Anyone who has never received ANY grade for LIB105 is eligible to proficiency out of the LIB105 course by passing the LIB105 Proficiency Exam. To clarify, you are not eligible to take the Proficiency Exam if you already have a "W" or a grade for another library course on your transcript. A student may take the Proficiency Exam only once.

For new students who have not registered or who have questions for an academic advisor from their major department.
Meet with department faculty to discuss appropriate course selection and learn about degree requirements, followed by on-line registration.
A students-only event. Residence hall staff members will lead new students into the auditorium for their official welcome and matriculation.
Drop/Add for all matriculated students via Banner Web will be Sunday, August 25 at 5:15 p.m. through Sunday, September 1 at 11:30 p.m.. After Sept. 1, a $20 late course-add fee will be applied. In addition, there will be a $20 fee for each course withdrawal processed beginning the second week of the semester.

The Financial Aid Office, 4th floor Kehoe Administration Building, is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Financial Aid Office will also be open on Saturday and Sunday, August 24 and 25 from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Students participating in the Federal Work-Study Program were mailed an information packet in early August. Log in to your My.Plattsburgh.edu account and go under the “Employment Opportunities” menu, and then the “Work-Study Position – Students” menu to view requirements and available jobs.
Students who have not yet adjusted their bills, accepted their charges, and/or paid their balances are encouraged to do so on MyPlattsburgh.
Student Accounts service windows and phones will be open Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 25 and 26, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Normal window and phone hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. except on Thursday when they are open at 9 a.m. Student Accounts staff can be reached in person on the first floor of Kehoe. Students interested in part-time, temporary or summer employment on or off campus can stop by the Career Development Center (Kehoe, 8th floor) to complete a registration form and review job openings.
Students do not have to demonstrate financial need to be eligible for these services, although they may need to be matriculated in a degree program.
The Part-time Job Posting Fair will be held on Monday, Aug. 26, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Angell Center Cardinal Lounge. Students who are not eligible for work study but are seeking part-time jobs on campus or off campus should attend the fair to register for student employment and learn about current job openings (see Financial Aid section for work-study information). Come early to check out part-time jobs that are available on campus and in the local community

Students who need to have their photo taken may do so from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, through Friday, August 30.
ID card office is located in Clinton Dining Hall.
Cardinal Cash deposits may be made weekdays throughout the school year at College Auxiliary Services, located in Clinton Dining Hall, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Special hours will be on Saturday and Sunday, August 24 and 25 from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Deposits are also accepted at the Angell Center Desk and the Student Accounts Office (financial aid transactions) or online at www.cardinalcard.com.
Meal Plan adjustments may be made at the College Auxiliary Services office (Clinton Hall) from Saturday, August 24 until close of business (4:30 p.m.) on Thursday, September 5.
The College Store is located in Saranac Hall.
The Campus Express convenience store is located in the Angell College Center.
Students are required to register vehicles parked on campus with University Police (UPD). Easy registration includes::
Free parking to student veterans with manual registration no later than August 30. Bring DD-214 showing proof of honorable discharge to UPD. Veterans should not accept charges on their student bill.
UPD will allow one week ticketing grace period for “NO PERMIT VISIBLE” until August 30.

A Free Student shuttle operates Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. every 15 minutes from SIBLEY, BANKS, SBE (new), HAWKINS, KEHOE, ACC, and TOWERS. Look for green signs and buses.
The Telecommunications Office is located on lower level of Saranac Hall, underneath the College Store.
If you are a new or returning student residing in a residence hall location, you do not need to do anything. You will pick up your contracts with PBN and Voice Mail information at room check-in your individual hall.
