- About Plattsburgh
At SUNY Plattsburgh, we enroll all types of transfer students. Some transfer to us in their freshman year - having found their initial college wasn't the best fit.
Each year, 900 transfer students choose SUNY Plattsburgh as their college of choice.
Others start at a community college - planning to earn their associate's degree first and then transfer.
Still others are adult students who already hold a bachelor's degree and are looking for a second degree to start a new direction in their lives.
We know that each transfer student is different and has unique needs. But, there's one main question that all transfer students have in common - will they accept my credits?
Rest assured, at SUNY Plattsburgh, we are a transfer college. We know all about credits and are focused on making the process as smooth as possible - so you can focus on what truly matters - getting your degree.
When you are ready to transfer, here is important information you will need:
We want to hear from you! Contact the admissions office to make an appointment with a transfer admissions advisor. We will work with you to ensure that courses you take will count towards your degree so you can have a seamless transition when you transfer.
Can't come for a visit? No problem. Each year we visit many two-year colleges. We also offer detailed lists of course equivalencies by transfer college and a list of 2+2 articulation agreements we have with various two-year colleges online.
Whichever way best works for you, we encourage you to begin planning your transfer early, and contact us at any point.
The Admissions Office is located on the 10th floor of the Kehoe Building.
