This combined B.A./M.S.T. program allows students who know from the beginning of their college career that they wish to pursue a career in social studies education to complete both their bachelor’s in history and their master's in education in five years.
The combined B.A./M.S.T. program is designed to help students maximize their college experience studying both liberal arts content and the principles of teaching and learning. Most of the first three years of the program are invested in studying general education and content courses in history, as well as courses in a sub-specialty in one other social science field. Cognate courses concentrate on transforming the information and skills that you have learned into classroom materials, preparatory for the last three semesters, plus one summer, of the program, which are devoted to graduate education courses and student learning.
Graduates of the combined B.A./M.S.T. program graduate eligible for initial certification and qualified to teach.
